SCAMMER ALERT GUYS

As you can tell from my post name its hard to put a name to these people, let me say firstly these people are based in Argentina as there are many other companies that share the same name, do not confuse them with these jokers.

They also go under the name of Code Labs or lambdafactory, if you are on Get A Freelancer, who also know these people are scammers.

I cannot make this any more clear, THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAMMERS, do not trust anything they say, or send them any money!

They have left a string of customers all with half finished sites, as seemingly what these people do is start the project and then do a little work, then ask for payments in advance, taking advantage of customers trust, as the customer seemingly thinks his site is being created.

What happens then?

They dont ever finish your project, they just make constant finish deadlines and then dont meet these,

They also string the project out, so you cant claim your money back via pay-pal or any other payment gateway.

In fact my project went through 10 deadlines.

I asked script lance to get involved, who tried in vain to negotiate with these people, but they even lied to the scriptlance admin and organised deadlines with them, which they didn’t meet.

They rook over $2000 from me, however this isnt what bothers me its the constant time wasted on these people that bothers me, I do not understand what drives these people to rip people off in such a blatant way.

Lessons I learnt

Do not send money up front, this includes step payments.

Do plenty of research on Google before you hire anyone, Google their site name, eg lambdafactory complaints.

Ask to see example sites, and email the owners to make sure they are actual sites they have completed.

As soon as the people you have hired start missing deadlines, this is a red light.

I come out of this a lot wiser, I am just fortunate it wasnt for more money, as $2000 is not a massive amout of money.

Fortunatly, I have this blog and am able to warm others about these people, I am trying in vain to get my money back, but I dont hold up any hope of this.

It doesn’t bother you that you lost $2,000? It would bother me, and I would be crashing their sites one by one, complaining will get you nowhere. Not to be rude, but that is what you deserve when you pay upfront to no-names!

It does bother me of course, unfortunatly its part of the industry, as Ive spoke to lots of developers who have done work for people who have refused to pay afterwards.

However you are right, I should have done more research before sending anyone money, unfortunatly these people have a way of saying things and you think its all too good to be true.

    Lesson learned I think

Hi Steveo, damn shame, but there are all kinds of scum out there only interested in getting our money. It really blows me away that they don’t care about their reputation, I mean, isn’t that all we really have out here?
Take care, man and I hope you somehow you get your money back.

    Good read, your scammers info.
Thanks for the heads up on unscrupulous webbers. Giving money up front can be an expensive hard lesson learned. It can be a headache even to the reputable ones..should you attempt to cancel a service. My experience would say that while ‘upfront pay’ may be convenient, monthly is really easier on the frustration, anger, emotiion level. Another lesson learned.
    Keep up the good work!
